River Walking Sticks has partnered with Faith Missions in Columbus, Ohio. Faith Missions provides meals, shelter, employment services and health care assistance for the homeless, including many US Military Veterans.
There is close to 40,000 homeless US military veterans across the United States and 700 of those veterans are in Ohio. Faith Missions provides a safe place for those veterans stay and provides the tools to help them recover. River Walking Sticks donates a portion of sales directly to Faith Missions to assist in their efforts to help the homeless.
River Walking Sticks has also partnered with Save A Warrior, located right here in Columbus, Ohio. Save A Warrior has changed many lives through their incredible "War Detox" program. This program supports the healing from PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress), helps active military and veterans through trauma.
For a lot of veterans, the healing begins with the heart. Save A Warrior engages in ritual storytelling and the sharing of their experiences. They locate, identify and resolve the psychological pain once and for all. They teach and practice long-term behavior exercises, allowing the veterans to focus on recovery and the healing process.
Ten years ago, Jake Clark started Save A Warrior out of the trunk of his car in California. Today, they have served more than 1400 veterans and have impacted thousands of lives across the country.
Save A Warrior is in the process of building the first and only "National Center of Excellence" facility to help and manage PTSD.
River Walking Sticks also donates a portion of sales directly to Save A Warrior to assist in their efforts to help save lives and get veterans back on their feet and living a fulfilling life.
